Was anyone else blown away by the Golden Globes Red Carpet? I haven’t been that impressed in a long time. Angie, Charlize, Nicole Kidman, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet, Michelle Williams, Diane Lane and Jessica Alba all made headlines and drew raves for their gorgeous gowns.

In the afterglow of couture and Best Dressed lists, I’m now able to focus on another equally stunning aspect of the 2012 Golden Globe Red Carpet: E! interviewer extraordinaire Giuliana Rancic.

Yes, my girl crush isn’t going anywhere! Giuliana has been back in full fabulous force at E! for several weeks, and when she took to the Red Carpet to host the pre-Red Carpet Fashion Police show, she looked every inch the statuesque journalist that the world adores. She sat down with Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos in a gorgeous, black lace Monique Collignon. She said she had asked her stylist to avoid any cleavage-baring gowns after her double mastectomy in December, and I think the high neck just elongates her already swan-like neck and her new, softer hairstyle really complements the look. Even though she looked amazingly glamorous in years past, with her hair pulled too tightly off her face and tape holding her dress up, I think this was her most classy look yet.

Of course, the Queen of the Red Carpet couldn’t just have one dress! After a quick change, she donned a nude Basil Soda, complete with non-functional zippers that would have truly helped the ever-adorable Sarah Hyland when her dress burst open! I caught Modern Family’s Sarah, among others, mouthing “You’re such an inspiration” to Giuliana before she descended the steps- but whether this was before or after the starlet’s wardrobe malfunction, we can’t be sure. I didn’t love this dress as much as the black, but Giuliana certainly kept on trend, with all the neural and gold tones on the Red Carpet.

The past year, all the publicity surrounding Giuliana’s infertility and breast cancer struggle has made her a beacon of hope to women everywhere, and A-listers did not forget her inspiring journey when they came to G’s microphone. Several leading ladies could be seen praising the reporter before leaving the stage post-interview. Like the pro she is, Giuliana sincerely thanked her couture-clad fans as emphatically as she has thanked everyone who speaks to her, and then went right back to her Red Carpet duties, seamlessly telling us who was wearing what.

I was so proud of Giuliana for her beautiful work on the Red Carpet at the Golden Globes- she certainly had her Fashion Police and reporting work cut out for her, with some of the world’s most beautiful women gliding along the Carpet in designer dresses. I can’t wait to see what Giuliana wears to the other upcoming Awards shows! I also look forward to the new season of Giuliana and Bill, coming out in April, which could show a bit of her difficult journey at the end of 2011. I’m sure she will look as beautiful and inspiring as she has every step along the way.
